Volunteer Your Time

Over 22 years of mission work in Ecuador, ‘volunteering’ has expanded to a multifaceted and exciting venture for FYTA and a variety of talented participants.  By sharing the diverse volunteer examples, the hope is that this will stimulate not only new ideas but reinforce and encourage you to share your talents with the less fortunate in your community, around the world and possibly FYTA!

Join A Mission

Medical missions to the Manabí Province began in 1998 at the request of the Honorable Ambassador Alberto Maspons of Ecuador, Washington DC, who offered to fly the team of 18 from Miami to Ecuador. (If you are old enough to remember that this was the year of “El Nino” where Ecuador was ‘washed away’ as far as shrimp beds were concerned, but even more devastating was the thousands of impoverished living on hillsides who were buried in mud slides and others washed away along rivers.)

Since then, smaller mission teams united annually. As the clinic was built and expanded in Floron so did medical missions to surrounding, underserved villages. Map International has provided us with medicines and medical supplies. Since 2016 ‘Just Jump Ministries’ has organized incredible teams. You can contact Cara Harrington at cara@justjumpministries.
