Our Mission
The goal of both Fundación “Yo Te Amo,” CO (USA) and Fundación El Buen Samaritano (Ecuador) is based on a conviction best expressed in Proverbs 31:8 & 9. (NIV) “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. “ The founders of FYTA, the current/ past boards and supporters share in a desire to help those impoverished physically, spiritually and emotionally . . .
Thus, Buen Samaritano Clinica provides medical care in many areas such as “failure to thrive“ infants, physical deformities, emotional trauma, meeting needs of bedridden patients in the community, elderly disabilities and multiple situations experienced by the impoverished where no other means of help is available.
An annual medical mission to surrounding, underserved villages began in 1998 prior to the forming of the foundation in 2001; these annual medical missions have continued and include dental care.
FYTA provides all funding to pay a fair salary and benefits to the 12 clinic employees who are all Ecuadorian, both professional and non-professional. Currently, FYTA financial support comes from churches and individuals aware of FYTA’s focus and past work over the last 21 years. FYTA founders and board members volunteer their time; 100% of any contribution goes to support the Buen Samaritano Clinic, its staff and the patients served.
