1998
Daniel Macias brought to the US to get a prosthesis for his missing left arm; El Nino hit causing a severe medical problem for the country; operated first medical mission to Ecuador.
1999
First stage for new hospital construction began; 2nd medical team specialists from US came to educate new nurses.
2000
Hospital nearing completion; September brought a 3rd medical mission team from US; first baby delivered by two US
nurses; over 5000 Christmas gifts delivered
2001
Fundación Yo Te Amo, CO board formed; shortly after 9/11 a small 4th medical team still went.
2002
International Rotary provided grant for water system in Floron, Portoviejo; Project C.U.R.E. humanitarian shipment held up for 6 months; 5th medical team came in September
2003
Regulations dictated that hospital could only be a clinic; clinic opened in March;
first garage sale at CCPC; 6th medical team sent in September.
2004
Made visit to Esnerio’s home as FYTA had arranged hip replacement for him in 2003; first USAID Denton humanitarian shipment arrived; child sponsorship program began in March; 7th medical team sent.
2005
Anna Engkjer sent as first administrator for the new clinic; 8th medical team along with a construction team sent; FYTA promo video produces; storage building burned down losing all supplies.
2006
Amy Heavers joined staff as new administrator; VOSH eye team came in January treating over 2500 patients; second USAID Denton humanitarian shipment arrived; initial pure water production plant installed; 9th medical team came in September.
